Set Up Communication Channels

New to setting up Transposit? Learn how to get started.

As one of your first steps when starting your journey with Transposit, set up your communication channels.

Setting Up Communication Channels for a Team

In the Organization settings, you connect and read a user directory from Slack or Teams.

  1. Click Settings in the navigation bar on the left and then click Organization.

  2. In the Communication Platform section, click the applicable communication channel.

  3. When connecting to Slack, select your workspace, and click Allow.

  4. Notice that Transposit syncs with your workspace.

    When connected to a Slack Workspace, you see the below.

    When connected to an MS Teams Workspace, you see the below.

Setting Up the Slack Bot

In the Account settings, link a Transposit account with a Slack account to add a Transposit bot to the Slack account. This enables Slack and Transposit to interact with each other.

  1. Click Settings in the navigation bar on the left and then click Account.

  2. In the Linked Accounts section, click Connect Slack.

  3. Select your Slack account and click Accept and Continue.

  4. Notice that your Transposit account has been connected to the Slack workspace.

  5. In any channel in your Slack workspace, type /incident, press Enter, and notice the following is shown in Slack.

  6. To connect an incident in Transposit to a Slack channel, add a custom Slack field in an incident type. You will then have enabled your team to set up Slack in their incidents and use Transposit from Slack.
