Celebrate National DevOps Day

Today we’re thrilled to announce the first ever National DevOps Day. If ice cream and tacos have their very own day, we think it suffices to say DevOps certainly deserves its time. The practice has exploded in popularity since 2009 — with 83% of IT decision makers saying their organization is implementing DevOps practices, according to Puppet’s 2021 State of DevOps Report.

DevOps has created a force of change in how organizations develop, deploy, and support their products and services, resistant to the labels often found in slower, more traditional development practices. This collaborative, fast-moving approach enables a deep culture of collaboration using a constellation of habits, tools, and people.

Born out of a necessity to drive innovation that meets the high pace needs of businesses and customers alike, today’s DevOps teams take cooperative, collaborative, and automated approaches to deliver code more efficiently, reliably, and quickly than ever before.

This year’s theme is Partnership — we are celebrating the powerful partnerships that bring development and operations together to collaborate, innovate, and deliver amazing customer experiences. While tools and technology help us do our jobs better, it’s ultimately the people that make DevOps work. So, today’s for you — for those who dev, ops, eng, sec, test, arch (we could add the list ad infinitum).
